Whenever people come and ask me “what is the most important component in skin care”, I would always tell them “Hydration is no. 1”. Hydration is the key in your daily skin care routine, no matter what skin type you have. It is the secret of having healthy glowing skin, and reducing the risk of developing visible fine lines and wrinkles.
When it comes to skin care product selections, I always make sure I have at least one or two products with deep hydration purpose in my daily skin care routine; and whenever it comes to toner selection, rose water always comes to my first choice. I love rose water not only because it smells so divine, but more importantly, it is natural, and it helps hydrate, revitalize and balance your skin.
Fresh recently added their new Rose Deep Hydration Facial Toner to their Rose Collection, and the packaging itself already instantly caught my eyes! It just looks so beautiful and elegant, with real rose petals gracefully floating within the bottle. This packaging somehow reminds me about Calendula Herbal Extract Toner from Kiehl’s, which is infused with calendula petals. The major difference is that the calendula toner is a good choice for normal to oily skin, whereas this rose deep hydration toner from Fresh is ideal for all skin types.
Before Fresh launched this new hydration toner, I’ve been already a fan of their Rose Collection. The Rose Face Mask is also infused with real rose petals and pure rosewater that deep hydrates your skin and tones the complexion.
Now the question is, there are many skin care products which contain rosewater in it, what makes it so special from Fresh? Fresh roses come from the famous “Rose City” – Isparta, in the southwest of Turkey. Pleasant climate with plenty of sunshine gives these roses a very refreshing fragrance. The spring of May is the best picking time for Damascus roses, and they get picked since dawn to ensure that the roses have a very high essential oil content so that they can extract excellent quality rosewater and rose oil. Within 24 hours of picking, the workers must also process the roses in hand to avoid any damage to the petals. Only the excellent 10% of the flowers will get selected. Using modern technology combined with strict ancient distillation and refining, Fresh brings extremely high qualify of rosewater and rose fruit extract to us.
Maybe you have noticed, Fresh already had a rose floral toner in their Rose Collection. I would say this new rose deep hydration toner definitely is an upgraded version! It does not only contain soothing rosewater, but also added rose fruit extract, rose flower oil, angelica leaf extract and hyaluronic acid which can help refine the appearance of pores, clear the residual impurities, soften and nourish the skin. On top of that, this toner is parabens free, sulfates free and phthalates free.
When I opened the bottle, I already started loving the scent of this toner. It smells the same as their other products in the Rose Collection – heavenly romantic rose scent. It gives you a very pleasant enjoyable luxurious feeling while using it. The texture is light weight, not sticky at all and it is very mild.
When I do my regular skin care routine, I like waiting for 1-2 minutes during each step to make sure the products have been well absorbed into the skin. After using the cleanser, I apply this toner as the second step. The amazing feeling about this product is that it makes my skin feel so refreshed and plumped, and I almost forgot about rest of the skin care steps – it is that good! I was really surprized about the hydration power of this product, as usually my skin starts getting dry very quickly after applying toner, and need serum and cream right after to deep quench the skin and lock the water in. After applying this toner however, my skin already feels soft and hydrated enough, even if I don’t follow up with serum and facial cream.
From my own experience, I would say this is one of the best hydration toners I ever used. It is a luxurious skin care product, but it is worth the price. If you are willing to invest a little bit more into your skin care routine, I would strongly recommend it to you.
